Steinbach Joins the Rural Community Immigration Pilot (RCIP)

The Steinbach Economic Development Corporation (SED) has officially been selected as one of 18 communities across Canada to take part in the Rural Community Immigration Pilot (RCIP) — a program offering a pathway to permanent residency for highly skilled workers choosing to live and work in rural Canada.

🎯 What is RCIP – Steinbach?
A workforce-focused immigration stream that helps local businesses recruit and retain talent by offering PR to qualified foreign workers.

📅 Key Dates:

• Employer designation is open now

• First intake period begins: June 1, 2025

• Intake window: 1st–15th of each month (or until 7 applications are received)

• Max 5 recommendations/month, 1 per NOC code, max 2/year per NOC

• No limits for:

  • 31102 – General Practitioners

  • 31301 – Registered Nurses

  • 32101 – LPNs

  • 33102 – Nurse aides & orderlies

On January 31, 2025, the City was selected as one of 18 communities across Canada to participate in the new Rural Community Immigration Pilot (RCIP)—a successor to the RNIP program. This initiative creates a pathway to permanent residence (PR) for skilled workers looking to work and settle in rural communities, while helping local employers address labour shortages.
