Why These Roles?
Easy PR Option: These roles fall under in-demand categories, making it easier to apply for permanent residency through various immigration streams.
No Extensive Education Required: It is relatively easy to enter these roles as they don’t require extensive qualifications. For a Nurse Aide position, completing a college-level course such as a Health Care Assistant program is typically required. To become a Home Support Worker, a high school diploma is usually sufficient, making it an accessible career option.

33102 - Nurse aides, orderlies and patient service associates
Nurse aides and orderlies assist with basic patient care in hospitals, nursing homes, and similar facilities. Emergency medical attendants work in ambulance services and urgent care centers

Home support workers and caregivers provide personal care and companionship to seniors, people with disabilities, and recovering clients in their homes. They may be employed by agencies, households, or self-employed.

Perform basic health-related tasks like changing dressings, administering medication, and collecting specimens under supervision.
Handle housekeeping duties such as laundry, dishwashing, and bed-making.

Some secondary school education is usually required.
Experience in home management may be needed.
College courses or training in home support or related fields may be required.
First aid certification may be required.

33102 Nurse Aides, Orderlies, and Patient Service Associates: - Over the period 2022-2031, there will be an estimated 191,000 job openings due to expansion and replacement demand. The number of job seekers, including school leavers, immigrants, and those moving between jobs, is expected to be around 170,100. Read more here.
44101 Home Support Workers, caregivers, and Related Occupations: During the same period, approximately 34,500 job openings are anticipated, driven by expansion and replacement demand. The number of job seekers in this field is expected to be around 33,800. Read more here.
According to Job Bank Canada, the demand for these occupations slightly exceeds the available supply, indicating strong prospects. As a result, these roles are likely to remain in high demand across Canada, offering promising opportunities for permanent residency (PR) in the coming years.
PR Programs For
NOC 44101 - Home Support Workers, Caregivers, and Related Occupations:
Caregiver Pilot Program (Closed for 2024, will reopen in 2025):
Work Experience: Only 6 months required.
Eligible Occupations: Home Child Care Provider (NOC 44100) and Home Support Worker (NOC 44101).
2 Way to apply for PR:
Direct PR Category: If you have the required 6 months of work experience at the time of your application, you can apply directly for PR.
Gaining Experience Category: If you don't have the 6 months of required work experience at the time of your application, you can apply through the Gaining Experience category.

Language Requirements: CLB 5 in English and/or French. Some employers may require higher scores.
Work Experience:
In Saskatchewan: Six months (780 hours) of full-time work with the employer who provided the Job Approval Letter. It doesn’t need to be consecutive.
Outside Saskatchewan: At least one year of relevant work experience in the past five years.
Licensing: Must be eligible for Saskatchewan licensing if required for your occupation.
Education: Relevant post-secondary education (Master’s/Bachelor’s degree or a diploma from a recognized institution).
Intent: Confirm your intention to work and live in Saskatchewan.
Job Offer: An eligible permanent, full-time health sector job in Saskatchewan with a valid SINP Job Approval Letter from your employer.
Note: Employers must register with SINP to obtain the Job Approval Letter.
Job Offer: Full-time, permanent (no end date) job offer in eligible occupations.
Full-time: Minimum of 1,560 hours per year and at least 30 hours of paid work per week.
Median Wage: Job must meet or exceed the median wage level (Check here: Job Bank).
Experience: At least 9 months of work experience in the same in-demand occupation as your job offer in Ontario.
License: If the job requires a mandatory license in Ontario, you must have it.
Language: Minimum CLB level 4 in either English or French.
Education: High school diploma or equivalent credential.

PR Programs For NOC 33102 - Nurse aides, orderlies and patient service associates
It is one of the demand occupations across Canada, and there have been numerous targeted draws that include 33102.
For Example.
Federal Express Entry
To be eligible, you must:
Be eligible in one of the Express Entry profiles
Have accumulated at least 6 months of full-time, continuous work experience (or an equivalent amount of part-time experience) within the past 3 years
Work in a single occupation listed in the table below
Have experience in Canada or abroad
Meet all requirements specified in the instructions for that round
There were only 2 draws for the Health category in 2024.

British Columbia
The BC PNP holds weekly draws and includes occupation 33102 under the Priority Healthcare Occupations category. There are multiple streams through which you can apply, provided you meet the eligibility criteria.
Note that only health care assistants and health care aides qualify for this program.

The minimum score for the health category draws ranged from 60 to 106 in all BC PNP draws for 2024.
In Manitoba
Applicants must have ongoing employment in the province.
They need to demonstrate sufficient skills, education, and training.
Work experience and official language proficiency are required.
The applicant must have a full-time, long-term job offer after completing at least six months of continuous full-time employment with the company offering the job.
Pathway nominates applicants who demonstrate an established connection to Manitoba through:
the support of family members or friends;
previous education or work experience in the province; or
an Invitation to Apply received directly from the MPNP as part of a Strategic Recruitment Initiative.


In Ontario:
If you're working in the 33102 occupation, Ontario offers multiple pathways for you.
Pathway with Job Offer from Ontario employer
Ontario Express Entry (Job offer not required, You must have an Express Entry profile and have selected Ontario as your intended place of residence.)

In Saskatchewan:
There are multiple pathways in Saskatchewan to obtain PR for NOC 33102.
SINP - International Skilled Worker - Occupations In-Demand
The above two categories do not require a job offer.SINP - Health Talent Pathway (job offer required)
