Requirements of this International Student stream PNP program

Job Offer:

  • You must have a job offer in Ontario from an employer in a skilled occupation at TEER Category 0, 1, 2, or 3.

  • The job offer must be for a full-time and permanent position (no end date).

  • The offered wage must meet or exceed the low wage level for that occupation in the specific region of Ontario where you will be working. To find the low wage, visit the Job Bank website.

Applicant Requirements: 

➑️ Education: You must have obtained one of the following eligible credentials:

  1. An undergraduate degree or diploma (at least 2 years full-time) from an eligible Canadian institution.

  2. A graduate degree or diploma (at least 1 year full-time) from an eligible Canadian institution.

  3. A college graduate certificate (at least 1 year full-time) from an eligible Ontario institution.

  4. A university graduate certificate (at least 1 year full-time) from an eligible Ontario institution.

You must submit your application within two years of completing the requirements necessary to obtain your degree, diploma or certificate (also known as your education credential).

➑️ License (if applicable): If the job offer is for an occupation requiring a mandatory license or other authorization under Ontario law, you must hold a valid license or authorization from the appropriate regulatory body in Ontario at the time of application.

➑️ Application Period: You must submit your application within two years of completing the requirements necessary to obtain your degree, diploma, or certificate.

Employer Requirements:

  1. The employer must have been in active business for at least three years prior to submitting your application.

  2. The employer must have business premises in Ontario where you will work.

  3. The employer must have no outstanding orders made against them under the Ontario Employment Standards Act, 2000, or the Occupational Health and Safety Act.

Revenue Requirement:

  • A minimum of $1,000,000 in total gross annual revenue if you will work or report to work at a location in the Greater Toronto Area (City of Toronto, Durham, Halton, York, and Peel regions).

  • A minimum of $500,000 in total gross annual revenue if you will work or report to work at a location outside the Greater Toronto Area.

Full-Time Employee Requirements:

  • In GTA: If you will work at a location in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA) or report to a location in the GTA, your employer must have at least 5 full-time employees who are Canadian citizens or permanent residents working at that location.

  • Outside GTA: If you will work outside the Greater Toronto Area, your employer must have at least 3 full-time employees who are Canadian citizens or permanent residents working at that location.

A full-time employee is defined as one who has worked a minimum of 30 hours per week.

Employer Form:

  • Your employer must apply for approval of an employment position by filling out and signing an Application for Approval of an Employment Position (Employer Form).
