News & Analysis
As per the latest immigration plan, the in-Canada Focus target is set at 82,980, indicating that more categorical draws (e.g., French, Skilled Trades, Healthcare), including CEC draws, are expected. Today's draw suggests that most future draws will involve 3,000 or more invitations, except for PNP draws.
Also, based on recent news from CBC, itโs clear that many provinces are facing a 50% cut in their PNP allocations compared to last year.
You can read more about it here.
According to the latest immigration plan, the PR target for all PNP programs has been set at 55,000.
If we assume that the 50% cut applies to all provinces, it would look like this:
Province | 2025 Quota (Expected) | 2024 (may vary) |
Ontario | 10,750 | 21,500 |
British Columbia | 7,586 | 15,100 |
Alberta | 4,971 | 9,942 |
Manitoba | 4,750 | 9,540 |
Saskatchewan | 3,625 | 7,250 |
Northwestern Territories | 150 | 300 |
Nova Scotia (Including Atlantic Immigration Program) | 3,150 | 6,300 |
New Brunswick | 2,750 | 5,500 |
Prince Edward Island | 1,025 | 2,050 |
Newfoundland and Labrador | 1,525 | 3,050 |
However, this number is expected to be higher, as it currently adds up to only 40,611 nominations, which is significantly lower than the target of 55,000.
This number may vary, but for some provinces, it has already been confirmed by their immigration representatives in CBC news, including Manitoba, PEI, and Nova Scotia. You can read more about it here.
