Total Confirmed PR Admissions by Province

For 2024, Canada plans to admit 485,000 permanent residents as outlined in the 2024-2026 Immigration Levels Plan.

As per the data, 414,465 PR admissions were approved as of October 2024. Additional PR admissions for November and December will be updated later.

This data shows how many confirmed PR admissions listed the province as their intended destination for settling in Canada. These PR admissions could come from any eligible stream for that province, such as Provincial Nominee Programs (PNP), pilot programs, refugee programs, spousal sponsorships, or Express Entry.

1.Nova Scotia PNP offers multiple pathways through its PNP programs. According to IRCC open data, 6,575 PRs were approved under the PNP from January to October 2024.

  • Physician

    The Physician Stream is only open to general practitioners and family physicians (NOC 31102) and specialist physicians (NOC 31100 and NOC 31101) with signed approved opportunities with the Nova Scotia Health Authority or the IWK Health Centre.

  • Labour Market Priorities for Physicians

    Have an approved opportunity from the NSHA or IWK as either a general practitioner and family physician (NOC 31102) or a specialist physician (NOC 31100 and NOC 31101)

  • Labour Market Priorities

    The Labour Market Priorities stream selects candidates in the federal Express Entry system who meet provincial labour market needs to apply for nomination. Only candidates who receive a Letter of Interest from the Nova Scotia Department of Labour, Skills and Immigration may apply.

  • Experience: Express Entry

    The Experience: Express Entry stream selects highly skilled individuals who wish to live in Nova Scotia permanently. Applicants must have at least one year of experience working in Nova Scotia in an occupation at TEER 0, 1, 2, or 3.

    Have at least 1 year of work experience in Nova Scotia

Note: As of 12 noon ADT, April 17, 2024, the Nova Scotia Provincial Nominee Program has a significant volume of applications for candidates in the Accommodation and Food Services sector awaiting a decision and must stop accepting applications in this sector while processing current inventory.

Atlantic Immigration Program (AIP) and the Nova Scotia Experience: Express Entry (NSEEE) stream to NOC 62020 โ€“ food service supervisors are temporarily paused.

  • Job Offer:

    • You must have a full-time, non-seasonal job offer from a designated employer in Atlantic Canada (Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, Newfoundland and Labrador, or Prince Edward Island).

  • Work Experience:

    • At least one year of work experience in the last three years (in NOC TEER 0, 1, 2, 3, or 4) in a related occupation.

    • Recent graduates from an Atlantic post-secondary institution do not need work experience.
